A folio asks a case to do more than follow the outline of a phone. The cover has to move out of the way, the stand has to support a useful position and the entire object still has to make sense when it is closed.
What Apple documents
Apple describes TechWoven as a custom technical fabric and gives the Folio an integrated kickstand. Our observed Taupe variant is MKR64ZM/A; Navy Blue is also listed. The US store displayed $129 on 22 October 2026.

The stand is a review subject of its own
Apple describes adjustable viewing angles and a stand that returns into place when closed. We will document the positions we can actually achieve, the surface underneath, movement during screen interaction and whether the arrangement remains useful while changing tasks.

Charging around a moving part
Apple describes charging on the outside or behind the open kickstand, using MagSafe, Qi2 25W or Qi-certified chargers. Our test needs photographs of the exact position and a record of charging behavior, stand movement and any alignment changes.

Watch the fabric and the folding sequence
We will follow the cover through opening, closing and pocket use, then photograph the same edges and contact areas over time. The condition of a new sample belongs beside its later condition, with lighting and dates kept consistent.
Keep the internal mechanism an open question
This note makes no teardown claim. Any explanation of a hidden mechanism needs original disassembly evidence or a manufacturer document. A future use review can describe what the cover does without claiming to know how an unseen component was made.
The review status
This is an initial research note. No sample has been logged or tested. There is no score or durability verdict. The next evidence is a real sample, a known phone and an original use diary.
