Name the relationship.
How this journal handles evidence, relationships and corrections.
Documentation and experience have different labels.
A catalog entry records what a manufacturer says. A research guide explains documented information and its limits. A hands-on review will identify the sample, exact phone, method and actual duration of use. Measurements will keep their setup and raw evidence. Current coverage contains research notes. No completed hands-on case review has been published.
Materik is disclosed.
Joe works with Materik. That relationship is visible in the project and will be stated in relevant coverage. A separate editorial name does not remove it. A future reviewer working on Materik products must also declare their relationship to the brand and project.
Money and products stay visible.
Purchased products, gifts, loans, affiliate links and paid content will be identified. Sponsors will not buy scores or the removal of defects. No sponsorship, affiliate program or external reviewer has been contracted for this journal at launch.
Photography has provenance.
The public launch uses Materik archive photography with permission confirmed for this journal. Other brand photographs remain excluded until their publication rights are documented. Original editorial illustrations are distinct from product photographs and scale drawings. Neither an archive image nor an illustration establishes a test result or a factory visit. Product information links to its source. No Carryology photography, logo or article text is reused.
Corrections keep a history.
Sources, product revisions and meaningful corrections should remain traceable. When a statement changes, the record should explain what was changed and why. The same family name or a matching dimension will not silently transfer a result to another product.
The design and name are being developed.
Case Notes begins as a small English-language journal edited by Joe. Its format takes inspiration from photographic product-culture publications. The project will develop through documented research, original use reports and maker stories.
