The iPhone Duo Case is the simpler of Apple's two new approaches. Before a use verdict, we want to understand how the two pieces follow the phone, where the edges meet the display and how the closed object fits into a hand.

What Apple documents

Apple specifies polycarbonate with a matte coating and a two-part design for iPhone Duo. The observed Navy Blue variant is MKR84ZM/A. Apple also lists Sand. The US store displayed $79 on 22 October 2026.

Charging, with the setup named

Apple describes compatibility with MagSafe, Qi2 25W and Qi-certified charging. Our future test will record the actual charger, power supply, phone position and case variant, with any interruptions observed during a repeatable session.

What the fit review needs to show

We will photograph installation and removal, the closed edges, opening through its range and access to controls. Any adhesive or retention arrangement needs direct inspection. A gallery image cannot tell us how securely a sample stays in place after repeated handling.

Grip, pocket use and wear

The diary should compare the same sample at the start and after a logged period of use. We will record perceived grip with its conditions, visible scuffs, debris near moving areas and any change in retention. A protection verdict requires its own method and evidence.

The review status

This is an initial research note. No sample has been logged or tested, so there is no score, protection verdict or recommendation. A completed review will add original photographs, measured observations and a dated use diary.

This article records documented information and its limits. A hands-on review will identify its actual sample and use conditions. Materik archive photos are credited; other visuals are editorial illustrations. Joe works with Materik. Read our evidence and disclosure policy.
